Recalibrating Leadership for the Compressed Century
Institutions are navigating accelerating and deepening complexity. Impact Attaché works with leaders and institutions navigating change, investment, and strategic uncertainty - enabling them to recalibrate with discipline, not drift.

Recalibrate. Don’t retreat.

Technological acceleration, geopolitical tension, climate pressure and institutional fragility are compressing the time leaders have to learn and adapt.
Under this pressure, institutions often retreat - narrowing ambition, simplifying complexity or protecting existing models.
Impact Attaché helps leaders recalibrate rather than retreat.Through system diplomacy, strategic advisory and leadership development, we support institutions working at the intersection of capital, knowledge, and societal purpose.

What we do together

Founder

Richard J Catherall’s professional development has been shaped by a deep belief in transformative leadership — forged through early encounters with complexity, the guidance of mentors, and years working alongside leaders navigating fragile and rapidly changing environments. These experiences shaped his conviction that effective leadership is not about retreating from complexity, but about continually recalibrating while holding purpose steady.Richard works primarily with mission-led organisations and those investing in and through them, seeing these actors as essential catalysts within wider social and economic systems.
He founded Impact Attaché to act as a trusted strategic partner to institutions navigating complex transitions across Aotearoa and internationally.
Richard teaches Entrepreneurship and Strategy on the AUT MBA, advises major foundations on impact and investment posture, and works with leadership teams across corporate, philanthropic, and public sectors to strengthen strategic clarity, institutional resilience, and system-level collaboration.
